The difference between pre/post-EMDC and EMDC

pre-EMDC and post-EMDC Training Tracks

The pre-EMDC (and post-EMDC) Training Tracks (found here) are designed to be single domain (one idea) Tracks on specific topics.  It is 4-days of training in that domain by one/two leader(s) and possible helpers.  It is very possible that the student would have a “project” done by the end of the 4 days.  Only meals and free time are shared with the students in other Tracks.  All the Tracks run at the same time.  You can only take one Track at a time.

The pre-EMDC Training time does not have: corporate (all together) worship time, devotions, plenary session, or display tables (except for 30 mins all together on the first day).  The pre-EMDC schedule is here.  There is a short, joint-Track, Sunday worship in post-EMDC. See the post-EMDC schedule here.

EMDC

The 4-days of EMDC each start with worship (music) and devotions, and a plenary session (including “minute-at-the-mic,” where any organization can talk for 60 seconds).  Then the day is filled with one-hour workshop/seminars that run 4 at the same time (you choose one of the four).  EMDC tries to put dissimilar workshops at the same time to help with your choice.

Affinity Groups (in three categories: Geographic, Social, Technical) are organized from the first morning and meet during free times and evening for the 4 days.

Display tables and booths are set up just before EMDC starts and are open during all the free time, between sessions, and evenings.

The Final Day has our closing ceremony where projects are demonstrated and where we celebrate. This year’s EMDC schedule is here.
