Registration fees are as follows:<\/h4>\n<p><em>The fee is non-refundable; paid in advance to EMDC, and very close to the amount we charged back at EMDC 2010!* You will receive the rate below on the date that you pay (not just register).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is the fee schedule for\u00a0<strong>Pre-EMDC Training<\/strong> (13-16 May, 2026)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$80 (single) \u00a0 $120 (couple; <em>i.e. $60 per person)\u00a0<\/em> for\u00a0 <strong>Early Registration<\/strong> (till 31 January, 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$100 (single)\u00a0 $150 (couple; <em>i.e. $75 per person)<\/em>\u00a0for <strong>On-Time Registration<\/strong> (Feb-April, 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$120 (single)\u00a0 $180 (couple; <em>i.e. $90 per person) <\/em>for <strong>Late Registration<\/strong> (May, 2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is the fee schedule for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/emdcon.org\/archive\/the-difference-between-pre-emdc-and-emdc\/\"><strong>EMDC<\/strong><\/a> (18-21 May, 2026)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$80 (single) \u00a0 $120 (couple)\u00a0 for\u00a0 <strong>Early Registration<\/strong> (till 31 January, 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$100 (single)\u00a0 $150 (couple) for <strong>On-Time Registration<\/strong> (Feb-April, 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$120 (single)\u00a0 $180 (couple) for <strong>Late Registration<\/strong> (May, 2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is the fee schedule for\u00a0<strong>Post-EMDC Training<\/strong> (23-26 May, 2026)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$80 (single) \u00a0 $120 (couple) for <strong>Early Registration<\/strong> (till 31 January, 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$100 (single) \u00a0 $150 (couple) for <strong>On-Time Registration<\/strong> (Feb-April 2026)<\/li>\n<li>$120 (single)\u00a0 $180 (couple) for <strong>Late Registration<\/strong> (May, 2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>The above fee schedules will apply on the date that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">payment is made<\/span>. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Special<\/em><em> Rate<\/em><\/strong> Participants <em><strong>from many countries pay $0 in registration fees<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Trainers (<em>not breakout presenters<\/em>) also receive a special rate.\u00a0 All participants must still pay for your own travel and housing (<a href=\"https:\/\/emdcon.org\/archive\/reduced-rates\/\">go here to see if you qualify for reduced rates<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Walk in Day Registrants are welcome.\u00a0 A One Day Registration Fee<\/em><\/strong> is $25 to EMDC and $30 to the venue (including lunch, 2 coffee breaks, internet, and use of facilities)(details in Housing section below). One-day participants will pay $55 per day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>2. Housing fees are as follows:<\/h4>\n<p>EMDC 2026 is held at <a href=\"https:\/\/empresshotels.com\/theEmpressChiangMaiHotel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Empress Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand<\/a>. If you stay on site, the package includes room and 2 meals (breakfast &amp; lunch).<\/p>\n<p>Note that <strong>dinner is not included<\/strong>. Particpants are encouraged to explore the many nearby dining options. USD $10 (300 Thai Baht) per meal would be quite adequate.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Please do NOT try to book at The Empress Hotel. The EMDC team is handling all housing registration, room assignment and your housing payment.<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you register, please fill in as much information as you know, you save your registration and update the details later. You can book a room for 1, 2 or 3 people per room.\u00a0 Rooms are available with single beds (1 person \/ bed) or double beds (2 persons \/ bed).<\/p>\n<p>If you have a security concern about staying at The Empress Hotel, please stay off site with friends or at a different hotel. When you register for EMDC 2026 you will indicate if you want The Empress Hotel housing or that you will be making your own housing arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Note that participants making their own housing arrangements are required (by the venue, Empress) to purchase a Day Pass of $30 USD per day. Day Passes (charged by Empress Hotel) include lunch, two coffee breaks, Internet and facility usage. For those whose passport countries qualify them for a <em>discount<\/em> registration, EMDC will pay part of the $30 for registrants who <em>pay<\/em> before 13 March, 2026.\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The recommended <strong>earliest Check In Date is 11 May<\/strong>. The recommended <strong>latest Check Out Date is 27 May <\/strong>covering Pre-EMDC, EMDC &amp; Post-EMDC. There is a non package room rate for days before and after which includes the room and breakfast only. You will have to purchase other meals and food separately.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"infoArea\">\n<p>The Empress Hotel housing costs shown below are per person, per night unless otherwise stated. <b>Including room, breakfast and lunch<\/b><b>, and coffee breaks. There are some combinations of check-in date and events that are not permitted. Some examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arriving after the start of the event you have registered for.<\/li>\n<li>Arriving more than one day before the event you have registered for. If you do so, you will be charged the single accommodation rate for that room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Roommates<\/h4>\n<p>Sharing the room is a great way to keep your costs down. To help with logistics we encourage you to <strong>arrange your room mate before you register, and then include both people on the one registration.<\/strong> Both of you will be able to edit the details after the initial registration. This is a great help to our housing team. Thanks for your understanding!<\/p>\n<p>In the registration you can request that <strong>we allocate a room mate for you<\/strong>.\u00a0 We are happy to do this, however we will allocate the next available person, attending the same event, of the same gender. If you wish to room with your preferred roommate then include both people on the one registration. Both of you will be able to edit the details after the initial registration. This is a great help to our housing team. Thanks for your understanding!<\/p>\n<h4>Day Participants<\/h4>\n<p>The Empress Hotel is giving us a \u201cpackage deal\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0EMDC is charged by The Empress Hotel for the use of the meeting rooms and facilities, and for coffee breaks.<\/p>\n<p>The Empress&#8217;s &#8220;Day Pass&#8221; is $30 USD \/ day which includes lunch, breaks, and venue hire (meeting package from Hotel). One-day registrants (also call Day Participants) will need to purchase a Day Pass.\u00a0 In addition, EMDC has a One-Day registration fee of $25 if a person would like to attend for one day (see above). One-day participants will pay $55.<\/p>\n<p>Thank-you for understanding!<\/p>\n<p><strong>To our local participants:<\/strong> Yes, we know there are <em>\u201ccheaper places in Chiang Mai.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 We have always kept our fees as low as possible, and we are using The Empress Hotel because it works for our purposes (i.e. is large enough with sufficient meeting\/training rooms). Thank you for understanding!\u00a0 Also know that our volunteer helpers and staff have kept the fees very low (we do not use an outside, middle-man, conference service organization that would increase the fees).<\/p>\n<h4>Overflow Housing<\/h4>\n<p>The Empress Hotel may fill up quickly &#8211; once full we will place you in a nearby overflow hotel or you could book your own accommodation and purchase a &#8220;Day Pass&#8221; (see above).<\/p>\n<h4>Transfer from the Airport to the Hotel<\/h4>\n<p>See the instructions about getting a taxi from the airport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Payment By Transfer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you belong to any of these organizations (SIL\/WBT\/WA\/TSCO\/WGA), please see a payment transfer option on the payment page, or visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/emdcon.freshdesk.com\/support\/tickets\/new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Help Center<\/a> to facilitate an easy transfer (<strong><em>In 2026 this applies to both EMDC fees AND housing<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>This is a very easy transfer process if you fill in the right fields (account numbers to be charged).\u00a0 We will take care of it on the other end.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<div id=\"infoArea\">\n<p>Those wishing to bring children, please write us at info@emdcon.org.<a href=\"https:\/\/emdcon.org\/archive\/hotels-for-emdc-2017\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>*Note: We have worked hard to keep registration costs low.<br \/>\n**If you do not receive a confirmation from our housing team, or if you have any trouble with their site please write to <a href=\"mailto:housing@emdcon.org\">housing@emdcon.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Cancellation and Refund Policy<\/h2>\n<p>You may have noticed that we do not charge much for pre-EMDC Training,\u00a0EMDC, or Post-EMDC Training.\u00a0 It is\u00a0<strong><em>by far<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the least expensive conference of its kind that you can attend.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You need to pay our small registration fee when you register.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>We make purchases or rentals based on the number of people coming (so your money is soon spent).\u00a0 We cannot easily refund the fee as international payments, transfers, and refunds are costly and they require a bank account that we do not\u00a0have.<\/p>\n<p>If you change your registration type (e.g. from Pre to Post) and the amount due does not change, we can adjust your registration type.
